About Harley and Hounds: our story

Our passion for dogs and their owners

At Harley and Hounds, our work is shaped by years of hands‑on experience with dogs of all types, including large, high‑drive and working‑line breeds. We’ve spent a lifetime learning from dogs - rehabilitating rescues, supporting behaviour cases, and working within kennels where reactivity and complex needs are part of daily life. This background informs our practical, evidence‑based approach, helping owners build clear communication, stronger relationships, and positive behaviour that lasts.

What makes our training unique?

At Harley and Hounds, our training is built around a tailored, practical approach that follows LIMA principles (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive). We don’t use harsh tools such as prong or shock collars, and we prioritise positive reinforcement as the foundation of learning. At the same time, we recognise that every dog is different.

Not all  pets respond solely to treats, so we adapt our methods to each dog’s needs - using clear communication, appropriate guidance, and fair interventions when required. This ensures ethical standards are upheld while helping dogs build positive experiences, stronger engagement with their handler, and reliable, desirable behaviours in real‑world situations

The joy of seeing dogs and owners thrive

The most rewarding part of our work is seeing the bond grow between dogs and their owners. Watching that progress—owners gaining confidence, dogs showing the results of consistent training, and both working together as a team—speaks for itself. This development is what we aim for in every case, and we’re always keen to stay connected and celebrate your ongoing success.

My very own rescue

I’ve also been running my very own rescue alongside close friends, where we work together to help dogs, cats, and small animals in need. Our focus is on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming a wide range of breeds, giving each animal the support they need to move safely into a new, stable home.

Prioritising the kennel and pound dogs, our aim is to ensure no animal is left facing uncertainty. We provide a safe, home‑based rescue environment that supports stability, confidence, and healthy development. With consistent structure, training, and day‑to‑day routine, each animal is prepared for rehoming into environments that feel familiar, giving them the best chance at a successful, lasting placement.

You'll find us on all the socials, "Space Pets Rescue and Rehoming". To support, like, share or follow might just help one of our fur babies find their forever home. Thank you
